62% of sellers’ agents say that staging a home decreases the amount of time a home spends on the market, according to the National Association of Realtors® 2017 Profile of Home Staging.

A home’s sale value decreases as it sits on the market

Proper home staging showcases a home’s use, setup and features allowing the buyers to literally see themselves living there. According to the National Association of Realtors® Infographic: Profile of Home Staging 2017, “77% of buyers’ agents said staging a home made it easier for a buyer to visualize the property as a future home.”

42% of buyers' agents

cited that home staging had an effect on most buyers’ view of the home.

28% of sellers' agents

said they staged all sellers’ homes prior to listing them for sale. Thirteen percent noted that they only staged homes that are difficult to sell.

A median of 10%

of respondents cited that buyers felt homes should look the way they were staged on TV shows.

reported that staging a home increases its dollar value. 

77% of buyer's agents

said staging a home made it easier for a buyer to visualize the property as a future home.

55% of seller's agents

reported that staging a home increases its dollar value. 

The most common rooms

that were staged included the living room (93%), kitchen (84%), master bedroom (78%), and the dining room (72%).

38% of respondents

said that TV shows which displayed the buying process impacted their business.
